Recorded information includes: latitude, longitude, altitude and time information. It is powered by the camera and provides red and green indicator lights to show accuracy level based on number of acquired satellites.

Yes. The D800 has the 10-pin remote terminal on the front, so you use the GP1-CA10 cable to connect the GP-1 GPS unit to the D800.
